Grants for keynote speakers and oral communications
Portuguese Neuroscientists working abroad are invited to submit an abstract, for a keynote speaker or oral communication slot, to be included in the 11th SPN Meeting Program.
A grant will be attributed to selected speakers, in order to partially support travel and Hotel expenses. Total number of grants and the amount of money per grant will be adjusted according number and diversity of applicants.

In collaboration with Pfizer, SPN offers a prize for the best research project in Aging and Brain Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease.

The project entitled "SirT2 as a Target in Aging and Lewy Body Diseases" was distinguished during the Pfizer Neuroscience Forum (March 28, 2009).

Neuroscience movies
SPN offers a series of short movie clips about the functions of the Brain. The clips intend to be a resource useful as an introduction to non-experts and a source of motivation for young students. These clips will be available Universally and Free of Charge. Download available at SPN Portal, Ciência Viva and EDAB websites.
The first clip produced is “Vision – Light and Neuronal Activity”

SPN is working in collaboration with the latin-american national neuroscience societies in the organization of the first “Iberian, Latin-American Neuroscience Meeting”, in Buzios, Brazil, September, 2008.

6th FENS Forum (Geneve, 2008) – Call for abstract is open. Deadline January 31, 2008. SPN will support 10 young postdoctoral or PhD students to participate in the 6th FENS Forum (500 euro grants).
